BLACK-SMITHING BASICS

This is where it all starts! A great class for beginners who want to try blacksmithing or folks who are looking at building their skills to become knife makers or ornamental smiths.

  • Learn the basics of forging steel using a coal forges.

  • You'll enjoy making twisted and tapered hooks and tying knots in bars of steel, you might even have time to work on a project of your own design.

  • Class starts promptly at 1:00pm and ends at 4:00pm.

  • Safety gear, materials and tools provided.

  • Bring your own snacks and plenty of drinking water.

  • Cotton pants, shirts and closed toed shoes are required

 

$160.00 per student, 4 students maximum.

INTRO TO FORGED KNIVES

Practice the basics of hand forging while making something shiny, sharp and poky. Get a working knowledge of principles knife making including forging, hardening, tempering, tool steel identification and more. 

  • Previous experience or completion of our Blacksmithing Basics class is suggested for optimum success.

  • Class starts promptly at 1:00pm and ends at 5:00pm.

  • Safety gear, materials and tools provided. 

  • Bring your own snacks and plenty of drinking water

  • Cotton pants, shirts and closed toed shoes are required.​​

$180.00 per student, 4 students maximum.
